The RTO Office in Delhi is clearly segregated into various sections and the vehicle owner should approach the right person for getting his vehicle registered. For private and non-commercial vehicles, one needs to approach the local zonal offices. Vehicle registration in Delhi is done by the MLO office headquarters for commercial vehicles. Like all other cities, the RTO Office in Delhi provides registration certificate and numbers only after one of its authorities inspects the vehicle properly. Documents that need to be submitted for vehicle registration in Delhi are the following:
- Form 20 with all details
- Form 21 or the Sales certificate
- Form 22 or manufacturer’s certificate, certifying the vehicle’s road worthiness
- Valid and attested copies of insurance and cover note of vehicle
- Valid and attested address proof of the registered address of the vehicle
- Owner’s and financier’s signatures on Form 34
- Road tax as per rules
- Registration fee
- PAN Card or Form 60 &61 (whichever the owner has)
- MCD parking charges
- Manufacturer’s and dealer’s invoice copies
For attested copies, it is necessary to get the documents attested by a person who is a MLA, Nigam Parshad, Gazetted Officer or a Notary Public. |
